PASTOR Tyrone M. Thomas

The spiritual growth of Tyrone Maurice Thomas began at Wayland Baptist Church, under the guidance of Reverend Darnel Johnson, III. In 1990, Tyrone transitioned his membership to First Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church, where he was nurtured under the anointed leadership of Bishop Oscar E. Brown. It was here that Elder Thomas preached his initial

sermon in November 1994.

On October 3, 1997, Elder Thomas married his life and ministry partner, the former Michelle Antoinette Barrett. God has blessed this loving union with two incredible daughters: Aniya Lanae and Nia Morgan. He also cherishes his role as a grandfather to Little Miss Blake Milani and Little Miss Gianna Michelle. His family stands as his support system, fulfilling his purpose in both life and ministry.

As a devoted servant of God and a dynamic preacher, Elder Thomas articulates the Word of God with clarity and authority. In May 1998, he humbly stepped into the role of First Assistant to Bishop Oscar E. Brown, making significant contributions to the overall ministry of the church during this time.

Elder Thomas graduated with honors from the Baltimore City Public School System, Morgan State University, and the Howard University School of Divinity in Washington, D.C.

On December 8, 2004, he was unanimously voted to serve as the pastor of Charity Church. Under his leadership, the church has begun to realize the vision God has set forth for its ministry, and the congregation is grateful for their anointed leader who lives, teaches, and preaches the unadulterated Word of God.

Under Pastor Thomas’ guidance, Charity has birthed new ministries, revitalized existing ones, and expanded its congregation. In December 2014, adhering to the divine vision imparted to him, Pastor Thomas relocated the church body to 1710-22 Gwynn Oak Avenue in Woodlawn, renaming it Charity Church, The City of Truth.

Pastor Thomas consistently challenges believers to remain steadfast in their faith and in their pursuit of God. His life and preaching have transformed countless lives, and for this, Pastor Thomas gives all honor, praise, and glory to God, the Head of his life.
